You are viewing the website dedicated to the 2020 New Jersey Wing Basic Encampment (BE20).  This website is here to pass along vital information concerning BE20 of which all officers, cadets, and their parents should be aware. NJWG will be offering a basic encampment and Regional leadership Academy this year.

During the week-long basic encampment, cadets will attend classes covering topics such as military airpower, core values, and a drug-free lifestyle.  Cadets will participate in physical fitness and drill and ceremonies activities daily.  We are planning orientation flights in CAP aircraft, allowing cadets to experience flying firsthand.  Throughout all activities, the values of discipline, teamwork, personal responsibility, sportsmanship, confidence, and respect are taught and encouraged.  New Jersey Wing has been conducting Basic Encampments for decades. Over these many years we have been guests in barracks on McGuire Air Force Base, Lakehurst Naval Air Station, and Fort Dix.  As our Armed Forces began to consolidate and military bases were realigned we even found ourselves running the Basic Encampments in the field utilizing military tents on Fort Dix bivouac sites.  No matter the location and no matter the conditions, we have maintained one thing, a great Basic Encampment experience!

Join us for Basic encampment 18 July 2020 - 25 July 2020--BE20 has been canceled effective June 6 2020

Regional Cadet leadership School (RCLS) is a 4 day academy that is  designed for Cadet Officers to learn new skills and knowledge they need to be more effective leaders in their home squadrons and wings. The RCLS blends classroom theory with hands on training to help cadets truly grasp the concepts being presented. There will be pre-RCLS readings, daily assignments and group discussions on leadership, ethics, and management. The students that attend the RCLS will be expected to staff themselves, and maintain the highest standards of academic performance and behavior. The RCLS is academically challenging and the students will have to manage their own time to ensure that they successfully complete RCLS.

Join us at RCLS  22 July -25 July 2020---This event has been canceled

During BE20 the Air Force has agreed to house us in their dorms located within the Expeditionary Center area of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (JB MDL).  The support we are receiving from the Air Force is an example of the value they place on CAP and the importance of the Cadet Program as a source of future Air Force leaders.  This support is extremely significant considering  JB MDL is a training hub preparing many of our airmen and troops prior to deployment. With this in mind, we understand that the needs of our nation take precedence over BE20, and our command staff has been developing contingency plans if required.
